FORMATION, INNOVATION, AND SUCCESSION PLANNING

Collaborative Programs

CTLC is not merely a short-term project, but a coordinated effort designed to strengthen Chinese theological education for decades to come. Several important programs and initiatives will be promoted in the coming years, including:

Faculty Sharing & Mentoring

Cross-seminary faculty sharing, joint training, and mentoring of next generation educators, ensuring continuity, excellence, and spiritual depth in theological teaching.

Joint Curriculum Development

Shared academic programs preserve rigorous theological standards while addressing the real ministry challenges faced by Chinese churches today.

Nurturing Future Leaders

Scholarships and mentoring aim to prepare new Chinese theological educators in the project period, multipliers who will shape pastors, leaders, and congregations for generations.

Launching Innovative Initiatives

Promoting forward-looking initiatives that may help theological education remain relevant and responsive in a rapidly changing context.

BROADER COURSE ACCESS

Shared Courses

Offering shared courses is a key priority of CTLC. Through this initiative, students gain access to courses beyond their home institution, engage a broader range of theological perspectives, and learn from faculty with specialized expertise, ultimately enhancing and strengthening their effectiveness in ministry.

Although only advanced-degree courses will be offered in the initial stage, there are plans to include master-level collaboration. Students enrolled in a degree program at any member school may take courses at other partner seminaries, with credits transferable back to their home institution. Enrollment is subject to course requirements and space availability. Students will apply through their home school, which serves as the degree-granting institution.

STRENGTHEN INSTITUTIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL CAPACITY

Research Initiatives

The collaborative initiatives of CTLC aim to significantly strengthen the institutional and educational capacity needed to prepare and support future pastoral leaders for Chinese-serving churches in North America. The hope is to address urgent gaps in leadership formation while laying a scalable and financially sustainable foundation for long-term theological education.
