1. Enhance Institutional Capacity for Pastoral Leadership Formation
Expand curricular collaboration among the five seminaries, beginning at the advanced level and eventually extending to the master's level across five seminaries.
CTLC is an unprecedented strategic alliance among five independent Chinese seminaries. Through the pursuit of these five objectives, this collaborative initiative seeks to address the urgent and growing needs of Chinese-serving churches in North America, both now and in the future.
1. Enhance Institutional Capacity for Pastoral Leadership Formation
Expand curricular collaboration among the five seminaries, beginning at the advanced level and eventually extending to the master's level across five seminaries.
2. Develop a Sustainable Faculty Pipeline for Chinese-Serving Institutions
Intentionally cultivate new Chinese-speaking faculty through advanced academic training, mentorship, and structured faculty development pathways.
3. Explore the Implementation of a Shared Digital Infrastructure and Resource Network
Explore the possibility of a shared digital platform to expand access to teaching resources, academic materials, and research tools. Initiate joint research projects on Chinese theology in North America to advance theological reflection, mission engagement, pastoral formation, and ecclesial practice.
4. Build a Shared Endowment and Scholarship Fund
Raise and manage a joint endowment to support faculty development, program operations, and student scholarships, with a focus on pastoral candidates committed to serving Chinese churches in North America.
5. Increase Enrollment and Leadership Readiness of Chinese-Speaking Pastors
Expand student recruitment and training opportunities to equip a new generation of Chinese-speaking pastoral leaders prepared to serve the growing needs of Chinese churches across North America.
May all glory and praise be given to the Triune God, who graciously provides all things. The formation of CTLC is made possible only through His abundant grace and faithful provision.
Pray that the initiatives of the Chinese Theological Leadership Consortium (CTLC) will be carried forward with wisdom, unity, and the empowering work of the Holy Spirit.
May the Holy Spirit move more individuals to respond to God's call to a life of service, and be willing to pursue theological training in preparation for faithful and effective ministry.
May God continually renew the vision and mission of North American Chinese churches for theological education, so that brothers and sisters may joyfully support the Consortium through both prayer and financial giving.
We invite you to prayerfully consider investing in this Kingdom vision. Now is a pivotal moment. Lilly Endowment Inc. has awarded a generous grant to establish the Consortium, providing a 1:3 matching opportunity for all funds received by October 31, 2027, up to US$1.7 million.
Every gift given during this window will be multiplied, significantly accelerating the impact of CTLC. These resources are critical to advancing this work, especially in expanding scholarships for seminarians and strengthening the future of pastoral leadership.
Opportunities like this are rare. Your timely partnership can help unlock transformative, long-term impact for Chinese-serving churches across North America.
