What is CTLC?

The Chinese Theological Leadership Consortium (CTLC) is a historic and strategic alliance among five Chinese theological institutions in North America:

  • Logos Evangelical Seminary (El Monte, CA)
  • GETS Theological Seminary (Covina, CA)
  • International Theological Seminary (West Covina, CA)
  • Christian Witness Theological Seminary (San Jose, CA)
  • International School of Christian Education (Toronto, Canada)

Its mission is to advance excellence and innovation in Chinese-North American theological education through sustained, strategic collaboration among institutions committed to preparing transformative leaders for the church in North America and beyond.

Is CTLC managing the five partner seminaries?

No, each of the five partner seminaries remains fully autonomous in its operation, student enrollment, and financial management. All courses contributed by a partner institution remain the academic property of the originating school which retains responsibility for content, instruction, and grading.

Is CTLC accepting new members?

CTLC does not accept new members at this stage.

Who may benefit from the programs of CTLC?
  • Current and prospective students
  • Pastors seeking to further develop their ministry effectiveness
  • Chinese-serving churches across North America
  • Pastors and church leaders
  • Partner institutions and the broader theological education community
How does CTLC benefit students?

CTLC provides:

  • Expanded access to collaborative academic programs.
  • Special scholarship funds are allocated to students who take the courses in the Consortium.
  • Seamless credit transfer among partner institutions.
  • Flexible online and hybrid course delivery.
  • Access to shared faculty expertise.
  • CTLC is exploring the possibility of a digital platform for students and faculty members to access teaching resources, academic materials, and research tools.
Can I enroll in shared courses?

Students enrolled in a degree program at any member school may take courses at other partner seminaries, with credits transferable back to their home institution. Enrollment is subject to course requirements and space availability. Students must apply through their home college, which serves as the degree-granting institution. All tuition payments are made through the student's home school according to its own tuition rate and policies.

How is tuition handled?

All tuition payments are made through the student's home school according to its own tuition rate and policies.

How can students apply the CTLC scholarship?

Significant resources have been dedicated to making theological education more affordable. Many of these scholarships can be applied to shared CTLC courses, though eligibility requirements may vary. Students are encouraged to review the scholarship policies of their home institution and apply for financial aid through the appropriate department.

What degrees and certificates are available through CTLC?

CTLC is a strategic alliance dedicated to expanding the capacity of its partner institutions and strengthening the communities they serve. It is not a degree-granting academic institution; rather, all degrees and certificates continue to be awarded by the individual partner institutions. Each institution maintains full responsibility for academic integrity, upholding its own accreditation standards and graduation requirements.

How can I participate in the work of CTLC?

Prayer is foundational to everything we do. We invite you to stay connected with us through this website or by reaching out to any CTLC member institution to receive updates and specific prayer requests for our ministries.

We also encourage you to prayerfully consider partnering with us through financial support. Now through October 31, 2027, a special 1:3 matching opportunity is available, up to US $1.7 million. Every gift given during this period will be multiplied, significantly accelerating the impact of CTLC's work.

Opportunities like this are rare. Your timely partnership can help advance a transformative, long-term vision for Chinese-serving churches across North America.
